How to make a personalised storybook from photos

Add a photo of each person, plan or pick a story, let Story Helper draft it, edit it together, and every page is illustrated with your family in it. Here’s each step in CreateStories.app, made for kids aged 7–13 and their grown-ups.

    Choose who is in the story

    Add a face photo of each person or pet. A clear, front-facing photo in good light works best. No photo? Describe them, or invent a brand-new character.

    Turn them into characters

    Each photo is drawn as a storybook character. Add their personality and what they want most. Redraw a face if it doesn’t look right.

    Plan the story, or pick one

    Plan the world and the plot with Story Helper: a beginning, a big problem and an ending. Or pick a ready-made story and choose who plays each part.

    Write it together

    Story Helper writes a first draft from the plan. Then your child edits it until it sounds like them.

How long does it take?

Most families finish a story in an afternoon. Planning takes the longest; the writing and pictures follow quickly.

How much does it cost?

Your first story is free, with no card needed. After that it's $2.99 a story, or $9.99 for 5. No subscription.

Can I make a personalised storybook without photos?

Yes. Describe each person (hair, glasses, favourite clothes) and a character is drawn to match, or invent characters from scratch.

Can I get a printed book?

CreateStories.app doesn't print or ship books. Download the PDF and print it at home or at a print shop.

Are my photos safe?

Photos are only used to draw the characters and are never shown on shared stories. Stories are private unless you share them, and deleting your account deletes your photos.
