Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Hive Ventures Ltd when you use CreateStories.app. You must explicitly accept them to use your account, including when signing up with Google. We record your agreement and its date against terms version 2026-10-24. Questions? Email .
Who we are
CreateStories.app was dreamed up by Indra Dosooye, an 11-year-old author, and is his first step into entrepreneurship. Indra designed it, vibe coded it and product-managed it, with help from his dad, a software engineer. Meet Indra
CreateStories.app is run by Hive Ventures Ltd (company number 15933757), registered office Frymans, Frymans Lane, Brede, Rye, TN31 6HA, United Kingdom.
Adult accounts and supervised use by children
Only people over 18 years old may sign up for and hold a CreateStories.app account. Children must not create their own accounts. A parent or guardian may let their children create stories using the adult’s account under the adult’s supervision. The adult account holder is responsible for supervising use, reviewing content and sharing, protecting personal information and photos, and all activity and purchases on the account.
Keep your sign-in details private. Tell us if you think someone else is using them.
Photos of people
- Only add a photo of someone who is happy to be in your story.
- For anyone else’s child, ask their parent or guardian first.
- Do not add photos you are not allowed to use.
Your stories
The stories you make are yours, and so are the pictures and text made for them. You can keep, print and share them with family and friends. Please ask us before selling them or using them in a business.
You give us permission to store your photos and stories, make pictures and text for them, run safety checks, and show them to the people you choose to share them with. We use this permission only to run CreateStories.app, and it ends when you delete them. You can delete them at any time.
Stories and pictures are made with the help of AI, so they can contain mistakes or come out differently from what you expected. Read a story before you share or print it, and redraw or rewrite anything you don’t like.
Story Tokens and payment
- Your first story is free. After that, one Story Token makes one story.
- Tokens cost $2.99 each, or $9.99 for 5. There is no subscription, and tokens do not expire.
- A token is used when the first draft of a story is written. If that draft fails, the token is given back automatically.
- Payments are handled by Stripe.
- Tokens have no cash value. They can’t be swapped for money or moved outside Create Stories.
Refunds: within 14 days of buying, you can ask for a refund of any tokens you haven’t used. Tokens already used to make a story can’t be refunded. Free tokens and tokens earned on the shelf can’t be refunded either. Email with the email address on your account. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. How tokens work
The shelf: buying, lending and trading books
- You can list a book on the shelf for other families to get with Story Tokens, lend it, or trade it for another book. A listed book must pass the safety check.
- When someone gets your book with tokens, those tokens are added to your account. They work like any other token, with no cash value.
- Getting a book from the shelf lets you read it in CreateStories.app. It doesn’t make you its author or give you the right to copy or sell it.
- If the author deletes a book, it disappears from everyone’s collection, including people who got it from the shelf.
Sharing and keeping it kind
Shared stories and books on the shelf must pass our safety check. Changing a shared story’s words or names stops sharing it until it is checked again.
Please don’t use CreateStories.app to:
- make stories that are unkind, scary or rude about real people, or that bully anyone;
- make sexual, hateful or very violent content;
- share anyone’s personal details, such as addresses, schools or phone numbers;
- pretend to be someone else;
- upload photos or writing that belong to someone else without permission;
- try to get around the safety check, break the app, or copy it with automated tools.
Anyone can report a shared story. We may stop sharing, remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us. We report any sexual content involving children to the authorities.
Our service
We work hard to keep CreateStories.app running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or stop features. Download a PDF of any story you want to keep.
We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have expected. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Read our privacy policy to see what happens to your data.
Problems and complaints
If something goes wrong, email first and we will try to put it right.
Changes and law
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page, and email you about important changes before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can also use the courts where you live.
If a court decides part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
